A place where I'll rant and rave or humor and enlighten the people around me. (Well Hopefully)

Published on April 17, 2008 By Zoologist03 In Poetry

I wake early in the morning,

Venture forth and gaze

At the majesty that surrounds me.

A jewel littered landscape

With lazy mists caressing every blade of grass,

Every petal of every flower.

This scene appears alien to me.

Most of the day is bright and mundane

But at this hour it is magical.

Not often does one truly admire the beauty

Of Nature.

Everything coalescing to present the very core,

The very bounty that life has to offer.

Like a dream it will fade,

Dissipate in the morning sun

But now in this very moment

It feels as though it could last

An eternity.

I think it is the

Simple pleasures

In life that we

Enjoy the most.

Images like this,

And the feelings that

Well up inside of us when

Seeing such wonderful things.

It takes not the scientist’s,

Artist’s or religious man’s eye to

Fully appreciate what

He sees before him.

It is merely the simple fact

That we are a part of it.

A small fraction of

Existence.

And with that,

We feel as though

We can belong.

Wow, mate, this is really beautiful.  I could almost smell the mist, such was the power of your imagery.  Well done, Zoo.
